Is it possible to hypnotize someone with red and green lights like in the Fringe episode "The Equation"?

Hypnosis is not real. It is merely manipulation, suggestion and relaxation. You cannot hypnotize someone to do something involuntarily. You cannot make someone act like a chicken, or feel no pain. Sorry. Reality sucks.
The word "episode" should give you the clue. It’s a story, it’s fictional, it’s not real.
